i love this song!  I love songs that feel old, but arent.  I guess in my heart I love country, but only rock-a-billy/bluesy/bluegrass/folk.  (I will always love the Wailin' Jennys!)  I am not into saving a horse by riding a cowboy...  Also how do you not fall in love with this album cover?  Those creepy scarecrows really belong together!  True love...  

How was payroll Monday:  Started but it was to late in the day to really do much.  One day it will work as it should... Iced Tea:  Two skull tumblers full, peppermint...   Time spent in the sun:  Just my run, I didnt even look outside much today.  I was busy!  Except when I was on hold, then I taught my monster pen cap to eat its hands...  Not weird... Miles to date:  7

Wines tasted:  21, 2 sake and a bubbly berry thing.

Food eaten:  Eggs and toast, grapes, rice cake crackers, carrots, Amy's rice bowl.  Not enough!
People waved at from limo:  like 5 then my hand got cold...
Other highlights:  I got to see my friend in her wedding dress!  Gorgeous!  I also got to cuddle a sweet baby girl!  Good job Lindsey and Johnny!

Birthday Party Fun

The weather has been beautiful these days. Blue sky and sun.  Makes me daydream of camping and gardens...  Soon..

 Last night I went out for my friends birthday party.  I got to sing karaoke with the birthday girl.  Conveniently I was unaware we were singing till right before...  I do love rock and roll.

We are so pretty.

 Melissa always has the best favors, there were bubbles and yo-yos too!

Plus I won $50!  It was the second time I played on my own.  Oh yeah!

When grocery shopping I found a very beat up Great White Shark that was on super clearance.  I felt so bad for him that I knew I had to bring him home!  He was very hard to photograph...

Create:  None...  But I did start reorganizing my closet.  Counts for something.

025: Pesto and the Price of Veggies

After work my parents and I went to Sweet Tomatoes for lunch.  My Mom had a coupon.  I used to really love Sweet Tomatoes, but it is defiantly a better place to eat for vegetarians, not vegans.  Granted I am only 97% vegan these days (we will save that for another post), but almost every thing has dairy!  All of the soups had cream, and I did try that barley split pea that was mighty tasty.  I had never had split pea before.  It always grossed me out...

When I got home I cleaned my room for awhile.  I found some cash and a few books I hadnt seen in awhile.    Score!  One of the books was The Urban Vegan, not one I have read cover to cover but I did flip through it and found a recipe for spinach pesto.  I just bought a ton of fresh spinach so I figured I would give it a go.  It was tasty, only 6 cloves of garlic to 3 cups of spinach was too much!  I ended up using 9 cups of spinach and more nuts.  Guess what I put it on for lunch tomorrow...  Thats right, a wrap!  Cant wait!

I was texting with someone the other day and he told he he counldnt afford being a vegan.  This news shocked me.  I feel like I save money, yeah sometimes I splurge on fancy veg or an amazing frozen pizza from Amy's but beans, veg and rice are pretty cheap.  This made me start thinking about how much money I am spending on food.  So I have decided to figure out how much I spend on an average day and week.  Anyone care to guess?

Last time I had Thai food:  I know its been over a week, but I dont remember exactly.  Scary...
People I hadnt seen in a long time:  7.  Most were at work.  Awesome!
Level of excitement for one of my favorite lady's birthday parties tomorrow:  90%  I just hope they dont make me sing karaoke...  Much.  :)

Random green shopping trip.  I laugh when I noticed and weirded out the woman in front of me.  When I explained she laughed too.  Good thing...  Ps the avocados were perfect!

My new moose friend from Costco.  He was so soft and cuddly.  Much softer than the real moose I got to touch in Alaska!  Too bad I dont have anywhere to keep him..

I have been making wraps like they are going out of style!  This one is avocado with roasted veg, lettuce green onions and cilantro.

Love of weather:  95%  It was sooo sunny today but still cold. I think Phil was wrong...

Projects left undone at work:  5!  Yikes I was busy today!  When you call places with questions, just get to the point, I dont need to know WHY you lost your receipt, I just need your email so I can send you a new one!  

Create:  A 3 stranded bracelet that I didnt end up liking.  I will try again tomorrow.
